Green Coffee Bean- is a berry that grows on a bush residing in warm climates. It originated in tropical climates in Africa and was then spread to other warm habitats around the world. Collectively and individually xanthine alkaloids from green coffee have been shown to have considerable benefits to the skin, topical application decreases the appearance of wrinkles and other photo damage resulting from UV radiation.
In a placebo-controlled clinical study of 40 female participants, a topical mixture containing coffea arabica was applied twice daily as a facial wash and once per day as a lotion and night cream. After 12 weeks, treated subjects experienced significant improvements in the appearance of wrinkles, firmness, redness, and texture, compared to the control group.
